In order to make the IMOCA fleet reliable in view of the 2016 Vendée Globe race, We designed a new efficient and reliable standard keel to be installed on all new boats
Keel fin machined in a single forged block of very high elastic limit stainless steel.
The keel was designed with the constraint of being able to be mounted on different configuration boats and with different bulbs.
Elaboration of the design specification with the technical comity of the IMOCA class.
Finite element analysis with a dedicated stick model thanks to our internal software (OPHELIA / DEPLA) combined with a volumetric finite element analysis to verify the stresses and deformations.
Vibration calculation and flutter analysis.
Full 3D design of the keel and integration of remote systems
