Reliability, Innovation and Optimization are the key words which drive us to develop our software.
This way we are today equipped with a full suit of software from material properties homogenization to fluid structure interaction FEA calculation tool.
This suit of software allow us to study an appendage, mast or a boat platform in record time.
This investment was rewarded in 2016 by obtaining the price of high technology from the Nautical Industries Federation for our appendage design tool SOFIA.
Research and development program :
OPHELIA is a stick finite element software. Initially developed in 1986 to design masts for racing boats, we’ve since made it evolve to design any type of slender structure from a multihull float to cargoship masts.
The advantage of a stick model is the gain in calculation and analysis time, allowing to study different configurations quickly without loosing precision or quality of the results.

SOFIA is a software suite for the design of deformable lifting appendages (Foils, Rudders, Daggerboards for the watersports, blades on a wind turbine, etc.) using fluid structure interaction. ALAMO is the outcome of tho PhD thesis on composite materials. It allows to calculate the mechanical properties of a composite stacking.

The dedicated interface enables to visualize the envelope of constrains or to make sensibility analysis with mass and stiffness criteria.
It is a multi-scale tool that has no equivalence in commercial software!
The strength of the tool lies in the fact that it relies on an large database of material testing conducted on various matrices, fibers and under various solicitations.

Sandra Is a software to calculate the mechanical properties of hollow sections. These properties can then be sent to OPHELIA to run finite element analysis.
The interest of this software is that it is specially adapted to the specific features of composite materials, thus enabling to quickly get the mechanical properties of a section with a specific laminate stack.
Its strength lies in its ease of use, making it possible to iterate quickly so as to obtain an optimum structure by optimizing the section and its laminate.
For example, this software can calculate the properties of a boom, a boat’s float or a trimaran’s beam or any type of hollowed structure.
Used with OPHELIA and coupled with an optimizer like Mode Frontier or Hyperstudy, SANDRA allows to test thousands of sections and associated laminate possibilities in a few hours to converge to the optimum solution.
Kiriko is a tool for rapid estimation of the characteristics of a mast assembly necessary for its costing by the manufacturers.
Based on the few characteristic data of the sail plan and the vessel, we are able to respond to the manufacturer or the team within 24 hours.
RECOGNISED SOFTWARE.
In our project management tooling, we constantly have our finger on the pulse regarding technology, from the most classic through to the most innovative, so as to guarantee the best possible compromise between costs/timeframe.
We run some of our digital simulations using recognised 2D and 3D CAD and FEA software.
HYPERWORKS is a pre / post processing suite, which enables data setting and analysis of finite element models. It’s a multiple solver enabling data setting for different types of solver OPTISTRUC / NX NASTRAN / ABAQUS…
The special feature of this suite is that it is geared towards Optimisation. Once it is coupled with the OPTISTRUCT solver, this tool is capable of providing the optimum stacking for a structure or the optimum form for an opening in a bulkhead.
INSPIRE
Included in the HyperWorks suite, this topological optimisation software quickly pinpoints the optimum structure of simple parts.
FEMAP is a piece of simulation software that provides high performance finite element modelling. This upgradeable software solution for structural calculation in pre / post processing is compatible with the market’s main solvers, including NX Nastran, which is our chosen option.

For the design of 2D designs, we use AutoCAD LT, the most common CAD software in the world.
From simple definition drawings to ply by bly laminate scheme drawing, our draftmen will comply with your specifications.
We’ve chosen to use the latest version of SOLIDWORKS with its FEA capabilities for the design of our mechanical pieces and for its capacity to run FEA analysis.
We use the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) functionality to calculate the constraints and displacement of parts and assemblies caused by internal and external loads.
To accompagny the diversification of projects we are working on, especially in the industry, we equiped the team in 2020 with the Dassault system suite “3D experience”.
